After a thirteen year break, the rap king, Eminem, has returned to the stage with his eighth studio album, The Marshall Mathers LP2. It's the follow up of his 2000 album, The Marshall Mathers LP. Dr.Dre and Rick Rubin were the executive producers in collaboration with Emile Haynie, Luis Resto and Alex Da Kid. This Marshall Mathers LP2 album reached the top spot at its debut week on the Billboard 200 garnering sales of 792,000 in its first week. It topped several 'best' lists of the year 2013 including Rolling Stone's 25 Best Hip Hop Album of 2013 where it was at number four and also took the number twenty-four spot in the same magazine's list of 50 Best Albums of 2013. The first song, "Bad Guy," is a continuation of Eminem's single, "Stan," from the previous album. It's all about revenge, Stan's younger brother has grown big, obsessed and angry and Eminem voices the emotions with panache. It features a hook by Sarah Jaffe. "Berzerk," the seventh song and the first single of the album, has old school hip-hop written all over it and features samples from the Beastie Boys tracks. It debuted at number three on the US Billboard Hot 100. The song is followed by another powerful track and one of the most famous, "Rap God". Eminem lives up to the name of the song as his talent is displayed to its full capacity in this rap anthem. He rapped ninety-seven words in 15 seconds in the song, which makes it an average of 6.5 words per second, this is described as supersonic speed. "The Monster" at number eleven, has Eminem collaborating with Rihanna for the fourth time and their notes hit it off together perfectly yet again. It's about inner demons and fame. The song peaked the charts at various countries, including US, UK and Canada.
